3 Causes of Back Pain

Back pain is what it sounds like; a pain in the back, which statistics show will affect everyone in their lifetime. They are of varying degrees, from low, negligible, and almost unnoticed aches, to a very sharp, and intense pain. When the latter happens, it has a tendency to reduce your effectiveness at work, and may remain for up to several hours.

You should not take back aches lightly, because your back contains one of the most important structures of your entire body – your spinal cord which enables you to move around and move parts of your body.

In fact the main component of your back is your spinal cord, and any pain you feel there is most likely as a result of your spinal cord being under duress ( though muscle spasms and contractions may also cause backaches); and though backaches may not be a sign of anything serious, it is better not to take any chances.

Bad posture

The recommended posture for your back is for it to be straight. Anything other than this, causes the back to become rounded, forgetting how to position itself properly, and extend the right way.

Lack of exercise

When your muscles are not exercised, they become weak and tighten, causing backaches as the muscles contract with pain and much difficulty.

Gallstones

Gallstones are pieces of hard materials that form in the gall bladder under the liver, which helps to secrete bile for digestion. These stones are formed from the components of bile (bile salts, bilirubin, and cholesterol) when they are in an unbalanced ratio.

Gallstones can cause pain to occur in the upper back and upper abdomen, lasting for hours alongside other symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, indigestion, bloating, heartburn, and gas.

Blood tests, ultrasound and CAT scans, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MCRP), cholescintigraphy, etcetara, are all ways to detect and diagnose gallstones.

These gallstones can only be removed from the body by surgery.

These positions should be avoided as much as possible in other to prevent yourself from experiencing back pains, and if you have gallstones, try and get them removed in other not to suffer anymore backaches.
