JUNIOR PERFORMANCE / SQUAD SWIM LESSONS
Age: 19- years
These sessions start preparing swimmers for competitions, swimming between 1 and 2 km per session, with progressive build-up, ensuring that swimmers know all the rules to enable them to take part in competitions without being disqualified. For the more serious swimmers, training sessions will be up to 75 minutes and up to 6 sessions per week. Swimmers will be entered in various competitions in and around Dubai. At this level, the swimming lessons are less about teaching and more about coaching.

ADULT MASTER SWIM LESSONS
Age: 19+ years
These sessions will offer adults of all abilities the opportunity to learn a new skill or improve on their current ability. We will help you build your confidence and to overcome any fears whilst in the water. Starting with basic instructions, we will help to teach you how to swim. We provide buoyancy aids that will help assist you in the water. Similarly to the Junior LTS program, techniques will be adjusted to fit adult needs.

Come along and try – you’re never too old to learn!

SWIM-FIT SESSIONS
Age: 19+ years
These sessions aim to improve overall health and fitness and thereby improve your quality of life in Dubai. Swimmers need to be of an intermediate level of fitness and swimming ability and usually use these sessions to stay in shape or train for triathlons, aquathlons or open water swim competitions. Sessions normally will be comprised of numerous lengths of swimming incorporating many different drills and exercises.

The answer depends on how old your kids are and what you mean by swimming lessons.

Early Swim Lessons Benefits

Infant and toddler aquatic programs are very popular for both parents and kids. They are a good way to teach your kids to enjoy being in the water and teach kids and parents about how to be safe around the water. However, these types of programs may not decrease your child’s risk of drowning and are not a substitute for adult supervision and safety in the water, although some small studies have found that “some drowning prevention skills can be learned” by these younger children.

How Young Is Too Young?

It’s never too early to get your child in the pool, just understand that they won’t learn to swim at first ⏤ especially if they aren’t even old enough to remember it. While it’s perfectly okay to acclimate infants as young as 6- to 9-months-old to the water, the American Association of Pediatrics recommends starting kids at age one. Studies have shown that there are myriad benefits to bringing infants into the pool, including helping their balance and coordination, building muscle, and improving their sleeping. Although remember, infants under the age of one shouldn’t stay in the water for more than thirty minutes and even less if they’re cold.

Start With Parent-Child Lessons

For the most part, parent-child classes are like bath time, just in a larger tub of water. Many people take them to the local YMCA, and they won’t include anything you couldn’t do on your own in any pool. But if signing up for a class is the only way you’ll have access to water, it’s worth it. Classes generally run 30 minutes each and last 3-4 weeks. For infants, they mostly involve zooming your baby around the shallow end, holding them on their backs in the water, and sprinkling water on their heads. For toddlers, expect to sing songs and play games, learn to kick, jump in from the pool deck, and swim after toys. Naturally, the parent will be holding the child the entire time, and again, the goal is less about formal instruction and more about water acclimation. So don’t expect them to start swimming like Katie Ledecky right out of the gate ⏤ just work on getting them more relaxed. Also, don’t forget the swim diapers.

Teaching kids with special needs to swim is not only a good idea, but it’s also essential. Swimming lessons help kids with special needs in a number of key areas, including greater muscle strength and physical endurance, increased flexibility, more self-control, and, in many instances, improved behavioral outcomes.

Creating an effective swimming program for kids with special needs takes a patient understanding of each swimming student as well as a well-thought-out plan for how the lessons can be adapted to each child. Here are some tips on teaching swimming lessons to kids with special needs:

Utilize appropriate adaptive equipment — Some students may benefit from adaptive equipment that makes the water experience more positive for them. Life jackets other flotation devices like floating mats may sometimes be used to help children with motor disorders enjoy swimming safely. For children with tubes in the ears, specialized swim plugs or caps will need to be used to prevent the water from doing damage.

Limit distractions — Special needs children often do better in areas of the pool with no distractions. Try to limit harsh lighting or background noises.

Be consistent — Since many special needs kids thrive with specific, predictable routines, it is essential that instructors be consistent in their teaching times and methods. Any necessary deviations from normal schedules should be planned in advance.

Adapt to the needs of each child — Some children may benefit from visual cues (for instance, with flash cards or diagrams) as opposed to verbal instructions. Other children may learn better with physical demonstrations. It is important to adapt the lessons to match the ways in which each child learns best.

Make it fun — Getting into the water for the first time can be a scary experience for many special needs children. Try to reduce water anxiety by making their experience fun and giving them plenty of praise and encouragement.

Plan for safety — Make sure that safety is a top priority in your swimming program. Safety measures include having a small class size, clean water, good leadership, qualified swim instructors, and a documented emergency plan.

Give each child individualized attention — Because swimming with being a new experience for most of these children, they may be hesitant or reluctant to “take the plunge” at first. Be patient, and work with kids at their own speed to get them adapted to being in the water and moving in the water. Additionally, children with epilepsy with need “spotters” at all times.

Emphasize basic water skills — Before attempting to teach swimming via traditional strokes, it’s important to make sure that each child masters basic water skills like breathing, maneuvering underwater, and flotation. These skills will not come naturally for many children, which is why a patient, the consistent teaching method is

Swimming is an important skill that can save the lives of special needs children. Parents and educators can work with swimming instructors to create adapted swimming programs that fit the need of each child individually.

Trainer.ae is a highly-successful, fun and innovative way for your child to learn to swim correctly, safely and quickly. We are often the place that “works” when other lessons haven’t.

We believe learning to swim should be fun, not intimidating.

Our small, warm water pools help children discover confidence and joy in the water without the fears and distractions that can come with large, crowded swim classes. Our highly-trained instructors can stay focused on your child throughout the lesson and your child can stay focused on the joy of learning to swim.

Kids learn best by seeing, so that’s exactly how we teach them to swim.

We use innovative technology including instant video feedback and mirrors on the bottom of the pool to help even the youngest new swimmers learn the correct technique, apply what they learn instantly, and quickly gain the skills they need to be safer in the water. This is the same technology Olympic swimmers use to train, yet it is also the perfect way for toddlers to get in the swim of things. Our technology helps us teach kids the most correct methods of swimming, making them safer and giving them a stronger foundation to continue to improve and excel in swimming as they grow.

Fun and welcoming for parents, too.

As a parent, you’ll enjoy the fun and the advantage of getting to see your child’s learning take place right before your eyes on our video screen.

Safer swimmers start

Learning to love and respect the water is an important step for your child and your family and we are proud to offer the absolute best way to learn to swim quickly and correctly
